Upland Bird Dog Training

Upland Bird Dog Training

Over the past 40 years, we have developed a training program for pointing dogs which we have found highly successful to the upland bird hunter. In this program, your dog stays at the kennel for three months. We teach your dog to work for you, and we dedicate many hours of our time to you in our owner training sessions. Your dog will be exposed to a variety of game birds, introduced to the gun in a positive manner, and be pointing steady to wing. Our goal is to have you handle your dog with confidence, understand his training and enjoy yourself! It’s fun to hunt with a trained bird dog!

Tim Schillereff, owner and head trainer is a licensed AKC and AFTCA judge and handler. He has been professionally training all breeds of hunting and companion dogs since 1981. His wife, Angela, is also a licensed AKC and AFTCA judge and a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. She has been a professional obedience and hunting dog trainer since 1986. Both Tim and Angela have competed in licensed field trials at the local, regional and national levels with various breeds including the Pointer, German Shorthair Pointer, German Wirehair Pointer, Brittany, Vizsla, Weimaraner, English Setter,   Gordon    Setter,    Golden    Retriever, Labrador   Retriever, Chesapeake Retriever and Springer Spaniel. They have volunteered as event secretary and chairman for various performance events and support the various breed and rescue organizations. Tim and Angela’s youngest son, Tyler Schillereff, has followed in his parents footsteps and now takes on two Pointing Dog classes per year. He also competes in AKC field trials.

Minimum age for this program is 10 months, however, we feel it is ideal for the dogs to be around one year of age. We limit the size of our Pointing Dog training classes, and only train during the summer months, so please call and reserve your place well in advance.

Please giveTyler Schillereff a call at (971) 678-9351 to discuss our summer program.
