Dog Boarding

Dog Boarding

We offer deluxe dog boarding facilities for all breeds, large and small. All dogs are boarded in a beautiful country atmosphere, shaded by trees in the summer, most with a landscaped courtyard view. Every dog has a clean indoor sleeping area and a full outdoor run. Our kennels are heated by radiant floor heat in the winter months.

Daily exercise is included in the cost of boarding. While we don’t offer a large group play to insure the safety of every personality we host, we do offer an array of individualized exercise options. For dogs who are e-collar trained, we offer open field play around our 6 acres. For all other boarding guests, we offer fenced play yard time and long walks around our property on retractable leads. If your dog is well- socialized and has been through our obedience training program, we can offer supervised, small, off-lead group play.

All pets are given personal loving attention throughout their stay. Our staff have decades of experience in the pet care industry and aim to make each guest feel welcomed and cared for. Advance reservations are required. You are always welcome to come out for a tour of our facility anytime during our business hours.

We require that your dog be current on the following vaccines prior to its visit to our facility: Distemper combo, Bordetella and Rabies. Proof of current vaccinations must be submitted at the time of check in. Please be sure to include any medications or supplements your pet will need during their stay. You are welcome to bring machine washable bedding and any toys your pet is allowed to have unattended. We supply all of the food pans and water pails.

Dr. Barry Lueck of Companion Pet Clinic of Aloha is on call for our facility should any problems arise. For after hours emergencies, we use Tanasbourne Veterinary Emergency. In the rare event that your pet requires medical attention during their stay, our first call is always to you.

We proudly serve and recommend Purina Pro Plan pet foods, but we will be happy to feed your own food if provided. Please let us know how often and how much you feed your pet so that we can continue the same routine while you are away. If your pet has any known food allergies or preferences please also advise our staff upon check in.

Understanding the Boarding Experience

Anytime your dog stays at a kennel, he or she will experience some amount of stress. In some cases, dogs may develop tracheobronchitis, or occasionally, intestinal problems like diarrhea while boarding. Also, some dogs carry viruses in their system for months and begin to show symptoms only after being subjected to a stressful situation. We strive to make the boarding experience for your pet as stress -free as possible and encourage you to prepare your pet both physically and psychologically for boarding. During boarding, some dogs may step in their stool or urine and become dirty. This happens in the cleanest of kennels! If bathing is necessary, let us know that you wish to have your pet bathed on the day they are scheduled to go home. If their bedding becomes soiled, we will take it out and launder it. If your pet decides to make a chew toy out of their bed, we will remove it from their kennel.

Eating habits may change under stress, some dogs will eat more and gain some weight, and others pick at their food and lose weight. Some dogs are more active and pace around and others are more sedate than they normally would be at home. Most often dogs go home exhausted but happy and sleep lots during the first couple of days back home. A successful boarding experience depends on not only the boarding facility, but also upon how well the owner prepares his pet for the experience.
