Here at Sauvie Island Kennels we offer several different training programs for companion and working dogs. We feel the high success rate of our program is because of our dedication to working with you, the owner, in addition to the years of experience and vast knowledge of our training staff.

Tim Schillereff, owner and head trainer is a licensed AKC and AFTCA judge and handler. He has been professionally training all breeds of hunting and companion dogs since 1981. His wife, Angela, is also a licensed AKC and AFTCA judge and a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. She has been a professional obedience and hunting dog trainer since 1986. Both Tim and Angela have competed in licensed field trials at the local, regional and national levels with various breeds including the Pointer, German Shorthair Pointer, German Wirehair Pointer, Brittany, Vizsla, Weimaraner, English Setter,   Gordon    Setter,    Golden    Retriever,    Labrador   Retriever,

Joe Castiglione and Venus

Chesapeake Retriever and Springer Spaniel. They have volunteered as event secretary and chairman for various performance events and support the various breed and rescue organizations.

Joseph Castiglione is a graduate of the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers and has been training dogs since 2001. He has experience in behavior modification, obedience, narcotics and explosives detection, schutzhund and tracking. Joe is certified as an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator and offer his services in our obedience training program.

Amanda Hoyt and Amy Harrison are approved AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluators and offer their years of expertise in professional animal care to our facility.
